Description

The Panda Corydoras (Corydoras panda) is one of the most charming and popular small catfish in the freshwater aquarium hobby. Named for its distinctive black patches around the eyes and dorsal area that resemble a panda’s markings, this peaceful community fish is a favourite in aquariums.

Panda Corydoras are excellent aquarium cleaners, sifting through substrate and consuming leftover food that would otherwise decompose and foul the water. They are peaceful with virtually all tankmates and do best in groups, displaying natural shoaling behaviour that is delightful to watch.

They thrive in soft, slightly acidic water and are well-suited to planted community aquariums popular with hobbyists. Provide fine sand or smooth gravel substrate to protect their sensitive barbels, and ensure good filtration and regular water changes for optimal health.
