Mixed Fancy Guppies – Care Guide

Fancy Guppies (Poecilia reticulata) are among the world’s most popular freshwater fish. Available in an extraordinary variety of tail shapes (veil, delta, sword, lyre, fan) and colours, our Mixed Fancy Guppies showcase a diverse selection of premium-bred specimens. Hardy, lively, and easy to breed — ideal for beginner and experienced aquarists alike.

Temperature 22–28 °C
pH 7.0–8.0 (slightly alkaline preferred)
Hardness 8–18 dGH (moderately hard water)
Min. Tank Size 40 L (10 gal) for a small group
Care Level Beginner
Temperament Peaceful Community Fish
Diet Omnivore — high-quality flake food, micro-pellets, baby brine shrimp, daphnia, bloodworms, Spirulina supplements
Compatibility Most peaceful community fish — Tetras, Rasboras, Corydoras, Mollies, Platies, small Gouramis. Avoid fin-nippers (Tiger Barbs).

Guppies prefer slightly hard, alkaline water — a small amount of aquarium salt (1 tsp/10 L) can be beneficial. Feed twice daily in small amounts. Males have bright, colourful flowing tails — avoid fin-nipping tankmates. Livebearers — breed prolifically. Provide dense plants (Java moss, floating plants) to raise fry. Males are smaller and more colourful; females larger with fan tail. Weekly 20–25% water changes. Lifespan 1.5–3 years.
