Malaysian Trumpet Snails (Melanoides tuberculata) are highly valued by experienced aquarists for their ability to keep aquarium substrates healthy. Unlike most snails, they spend much of their time burrowing through gravel and aquarium soil, naturally aerating the substrate and reducing the formation of anaerobic pockets.
They are excellent scavengers that feed on uneaten food, decaying organic matter, biofilm, and soft algae, helping maintain cleaner water and reducing waste buildup.
